About this spa

Set beneath the Rocky Mountain backdrop in Fairmont Hot Springs, this mineral soak feels built for slowing down. Guests come for the contrast of hot, warm, and cooler pools, moving between temperatures like a simple thermal circuit that suits different moods and bodies. On cold days, the steam rising into crisp mountain air turns the walk from changerooms into part of the ritual; in summer, the lawns and open skies make it easy to linger for hours. Reviews consistently point to the same strengths: scenic views, clear mineral water, and the kind of post-hike or post-ski relief that leaves tired legs feeling reset. The experience is especially strong for families and multi-generational groups, with enough variety to keep children, couples, and recovery-focused travelers comfortable at once. A sauna, steam room, cold plunge, massage rooms, and quiet relaxation space round out the wellness offering, while the lake and mountain views give the whole setting a distinctly BC resort feel. It is not a hidden secret or a perfectly polished spa, and busier periods can take away some of the calm, but the setting still lands with real appeal. With a Wellness Score of 77, it offers a grounded, scenic soak that works best as a day-long escape for up to 10 guests.

We’ve stayed here a few times as it’s a great deal if you wanna soak and stay. They sell Starbucks coffee at their coffee bar. It has snacks and sandwiches as well. If you’re hungry the food is great at the restaurant and bar. The service is great. the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing and if you come during the spring summer or fall, there is lots of outdoor activities to enjoy even in the winter, they’ve got a ski hill close by it’s definitely a nice place to sit back, relaxing and enjoy. And I like the fact that if I wanna walk inside to the mineral pool, I have the option if it’s really cold out.

I have been to Fairmont Hotsprings resort twice now. The first time was in the late ‘90s and I just stayed there March 16/17 of this year. It is not the same place or experience Don’t get me wrong, other than the condition of the pool itself, it’s hard to beat the pool. Temp was good, view was great, people amazing. Unfortunately, it’s falling apart. Much like the building facilities themselves. I’m sure there hasn’t been a significant investment in that property for years. Much like Harrison Hotsprings Resort, Aldesta Hotels & Resorts | Saliance Global Holdings, have just sucked money out of the property. What was once a great all round experience has turned into a place you will tolerate staying at to take advantage of the surrounding beauty, offering of the springs and ski hill. The food offered at Bears Paw was tolerable at best. The Burger was plain and the Tandoori Chicken was a pre-frozen breast with maybe some spice sprinkled on it. Again, not worth the money. You are far better Off running up the road 20 minutes for far more selection at similar price points. It’s lazy at best when it comes to a food offering. I wish I could say more good things but the drain that let 3in of water to back up into the tub during a quick shower with junk back flowing over our feet topped it off. It’s an old facility that deserves a significant upgrade to make it the offering it once was. Go for the pool, skiing, hiking and etc. Stay in your motor home. Eat anywhere else.
